100 Lenses/Born into Brothels (with Crossroads Community Center)

Creative Campus planned a documentary viewing on April 27, 2006, to enhance the experience of participants in the Crossroads Community Center's "Through 100 Lenses" project. The project encouraged students to take pictures of the University's from their perspectives. Via the photo voice method, amateur photographers could visually depict their daily experiences as students in order to depict the University's culture through their eyes, assess campus culture and determine areas where there were gaps and intersections, generate discussion about the campus culture, and assist the Crossroads Community Center in understanding hte campus through the eyes of students of different backgrounds. To deepen this experience, Creative Campus invited participants to view Born into Brothels, a documentary that used the photo voice method to see the world through the eyes of children born to prostitutes in the red light district of Calcutta, India.
