Athletics & Aesthetics: Strings and Skins - 2005
Creative Campus hosted a reception prior to the Grammy award-winning Emerson String Quartet's performance at the Moody School of Music on Sept. 30, 2005. Because the concert kicked off the Alabama v. Florida football weekend, the initiative used the reception as an opportunity to tie sports and arts together through a multimedia presentation detailing the connections between the kinesthetic motions involved in a string quartet performance and those found on the gridiron on Saturday afternoons. Professors from the Multiple Abilities Program, the strings program, and the kinesiology program collaborated to create the presentation, which gave attendees insight into the musical performance than night and helped them to get more out of it.
