Planet Lovin' Putt Putt
In the spring of 2009, Creative Campus invited students, faculty, and community members around the University of Alabama campus to participate in the Planet Lovin' Putt-Putt Hole Design Contest. The contest called for participants to create miniature golf holes out of discarded materials or natural items. The goal of the contest was to generate awareness of eco-friendly sustainability and recycling through the design of the holes and exhibiting them for public play on The University of Alabama’s Quad at Earthfest 2009. Earthfest is a University-wide celebration of the Earth and its eco-friendly sustainability presented by the University of Alabama Environmental Council, which was held on April 19. Over fifty participants formed twelve different teams and built miniature golf holes for the contest. The contest awarded four $250 awards totalling $1000 to winning design teams in different categories, including:

Most Innovative (sponsored by Sierra Club) decided by Dr. Robert Hall, Director of New College
